  • Edius AE and MXF

Strange topic but, I'm building a project in Edius using imported EX1 footage as .mxf files - so far so good, I've not found it necessary to convert to HQ files as my machine is handling everything OK, even with filters. (needing the odd smart render now and again).

Opened After Effects up, to tweek something, and it does not recognise or import .mxf files, but does open the mp4 wrapped files off the Express cards from the EX1 - anyone tried this, can't find any reference to AE and mxf so does this mean I have to either use the mp4's or convert everything to HQ (more disc space)

Anyone heard of an app to get mxf into AE??

OK, I love answering my own questions, update 8.0.2 for AECS3 adds .mxf support.

      Oh dear,

AECS3 with its new patch now see's the mxf files, but will not import them, I've tested both .mxf from a Sony 330 XDCAM HD camera and xmf files created by the Sony clip browser from my EX1.

      what a bummer.
