Windows x64 has no problem with partitions larger than 2TB.

windows will not show you more than 2TB, you can ignore this false report

when you use raid 0 with 4x sata II, you will get the 420mb/sec and this is the important bit

    RAID larger than 2 TB

I've got an Intel DP35DP motherboard and was unable to create an INTERNAL RAID-0 larger than 2TB. How did you RAID 4x750? Intel tech support told me of the limit after trying for 2 weeks to RAID 4x750.

it really depends on your PC

I use 4 Sata disks in raid0 so a 1 hour timeline exports to HQ/fine in 5 minutes

T4 Xpress uses all 8 cores of my PC and as a result it converts a 1 hour HQ file to DVD elementary streams in 10 minutes

No direct plug-in - you need to export the timeline as a single file and then use that as a source in TMPG. Typically you want to use something like Canopus HQ or Canopus Lossless as the source. TMPG will recognise the input since the codecs installed with EDIUS are exposed to other video apps.

I am no doubt sure that Anton will chime in here with an obligitory plug for the software. :)

    TMPGenc 4.0 Xpress

Does TMPGenc 4.0 Xpress work right off the timeline in Edius like Procoder? If not, what is the workflow?

Excellent list of suggestions. I appreciate all the input - especially regarding Blender, I totally forgot about that application. :)

Sound Forge 9 and Vegas 8 for audio, Photoshop and Photo Brush, DVD Lab 2.0 and TMPGenc 4.0 Xpress are the main programs though I have all sorts of others used occasionally.

Best Programs to Use with Edius

    Hey folks,

I just put the finishing touches on my new Edius box and am at somewhat of a loss as to which programs will best compliment the power house that is my new NLE.

I'd love to hear what programs you guys are using in addition to Edius to put the finishing touches on your productions or just allow your systems to run smoother. Off the top of my head I can think of: Adobe Photoshop, Diskeeper Pro and Adobe After Effects. Anything else?
Working...
