If you edit the files natively, then you can choose Canopus HQ as the timeline rendering format...so if you need to render any parts of the timeline, it will render that area to Canopus HQ which is a very high quality codec...but if your computer is fast enough, you probably will never come by an area that you need to render.

    Thank you for your reply.

How do I edit IMX50 native? there is a DVCPRO50 native codec in the projects options list but I don't seem to have an IMX5o one.

If I do edit native IMX50 what bearing does this have if I mix formats on the timeline i.e HDV, DVCAM along with IMX50?

    Thank you for you time.

You can can either edit the native data, or capture/convert to Canopus HQ (which compliments XDCAM perfectly).

    Hi,

I have just purchased Edius broadcast. I shoot using a PDW530P. What is the best rendering codec for editing IMX50 in terms of picture qaulity?

Thanks for your response in advance.
