  • Gui?

I have downloaded the Edius 4.5 software. For the 2D and 3D PIP we have the same old plugin style GUI like in the past when the DV Storm was used with Premiere 6.0. Final Cut Pro, Premiere and Avid Liquid all turn the source monitor into the effects control panel/pallet and you edit your PIP in the program monitor. I like that style of GUI much better than the plugin syle of Edius 4.5. I also see the filters still can not be key framed. I like Edius but like many articles have stated it is hard to use Edius on a single monitor when compared to other programs. I can only hope Edius 5.0 will get a bit of a face lift for the GUI. I like how it is much easier to ripple trim when ripple mode and sync are selected. I hope this year at NAB Grass Valley will launch Edius 5.0. Edius still needs some tweaking.

The look of the GUI was tweaked with v4.5.
I presume that by tweaked you mean made more like its competitors.
I for one hope not as I use Edius precisely because it its not like the others out there.

I see the crop for the 3D PIP still tries to keep the PIP center. There were a few of us who hated how this worked. I hope we see Edius 5 at NAB. I hope it gets a few good tweaks.

Don't get your hopes up for 5 this year.

Did you notice that all the color correction filters are now keyframable?

Yes I did. It makes sense to key frame them first. I think the new trim handles make editing much easier but the GUI could use some tweaks in my opinion. In my opinion the screen realestate is used better in PP CS3.
