"Best" way to remove lens debris from footage?

Any good method to remove lens debris from footage? It's very small I didn't catch it on the view finder but I can be seen during editing.

I use Boris red and clone a close part of the video or use paint filter with feathered edges, If you are using HD Boris will still work OK as a static filter such as clone or paint but will give problems due to not recognizing the upper field first. No problems with SD. the problem is the price
If you use it on the clip as stand alone outside Edius you will have no problems

Several months ago I had a project (talking head) that was shot in the clients office. In the back ground was a light socket on the wall that was distracting. Since there was no camera movement and the shot was basically locked down, I saved a still and opened it in Photo shop.

Here is how we built the mask:

First capture a still frame of the video you want to build a mask for.
Open this still in photoshop and a new layer. This layer will be empty and reside over the original still. Click on the still layer and use the clone tool. To capture a sample, hold down the Alt key and click the left mouse button. Then select the new layer and while holding down the left mouse button draw over the aera you want to hide. This will build a mask on the new layer.

Before you save as, turn off the background layer. This will export only the new mask layer. If you save this as a psd files it will import into edius as a layer. Place the mask in the video track over the clip you want to correct.
When it playes the spot will be covered with the mask.
