  • Export from time line to IPOD

Is it possible using Edius/Procoder2.0 to export from the time line a clip that can be loaded onto an IPOD? the clip will be at a maximum of 20 minutes long.
If so, would it be possible to then e-mail the clip?

    Thanks

    Hi Ronnie,

    With Procoder 2,
I would export the video to: 'QuickTime6 - DV for Final Cut Pro'

Once that was completed I would open that in Quicktime and export it for iPod.
You need to have Quicktime Pro to be able to export from Quicktime.

20min of video would roughly be about 100mb
    Way too big for email.

I have Procoder 3 and it has the iPod presets already included.

      Very handy :)

You might try the search. I remember seeing a fairly detailed post on converting to this.

If I upgrade to PC3 will I still have to purchase quick time pro?

          Thanks

No, you don't. The regular QT package is included in the installation process.

quick time pro is cheaper than PC 3 upgrade.

                True,
but using Procoder from the timeline saves you a lot of time & effort,
compared to exporting from the timeline and then opening Quicktime to export to iPod mp4/mpv

If time is not a factor,
and you don't need Procoder 3 for anything else,
then the $30 for Quicktime Pro is the cheaper option.
