I would try WinDV -- it is a very simple, extremely robust and free DV capture/output utility.

If you are getting weird frame sizes with a width and height of zero, something is seriously wrong with your system. I don't know if you installed one of those dreadful "codec packs" or what, but that is absolutely not normal, and will cause problems with virtually all programs that handle video.

Well, just forget about this problem. Can you please suggest another programme for video capture in avi format?

That is strange and it is also the first time I hear of this.

How are you judging the video by overlay or out to a broadcast monitor?

From different programmes of video capture such as Windows Import video, Nero Vision, Ulead Video Studio 11, etc. they capture videos abd produce them with frame width and height 0 for both.
If I capture from Edius 4.02, a distorted video will be produced. For your information, I am using MiniDV camera (Sony DCR-TRV17E PAL) with input device in Edius at Generic OHCI and input format at DV 50i.

Where did the AVI file originate from?

EDIUS 4.5 onward offers DirectShow AVI import and may cover this file...but an AVI file with a width and height of '0' just seems...wrong.

A problem with video's frame size

If I have an avi video with frame width and height zero for both, Edius 4.02 cannot recognize this video. However, it does recognize 720X576 and other sizes except for zero. Firstly, can you please explain the reason, and a solution if there is? Secondly, can you please suggest a programme for frame size conversion with no any distortions in the product video?
