    Yes, the deinterlace helped the situation in Premiere 6.5, but like you say, no change when its applied in Edius.
    When I go out, I wear my EDIUS T-Shirt.

      agreed.. tried them once no difference..
      even antiflicker make it nicer a 'bit'...just a 'bit'...

        Have you tried the Old Movie filter with everything unchecked except Deinterlace?

          Aloha Fellas,

          Here are some ideas and I'm sure you guys have tried before.

          I have noticed that if I render at a really high bit rate 10k then let the DVD authoring software (Encoder or DVD-it Pro) down render it (9k~) comes out pretty good. Its still not super crisp but that helps a lot.

          I also us anti-flicker and color balance (saturation +2 contrast +3).

          Also I have found in the past (not sure if this is still valid) to burn the DVDs a little slower 4X.
