  • Very long export even with hardware encoder

This is the first time I am experiencing this.
I have the latest version of the Intel graphics driver and latest version of Edius.
(when I say latest of Intel, I mean the latest that's supported for my computer)
At export, I have the option "Hardware Encoder" checked.
The timeline is mainly only audio with only a few, short video overlays.
    No effects, no plugins used.

Usually, with hardware encoder checked, the export time would be anywhere from half the timeline duration to a fith of that time.

Now, I'm seeing that it is taking 30 minutes to export a 27 minute timeline.
It's as if the hardware encoder is not being used.

    Any idea why?

can you set CBR and untick hardware encoder, should only take 3min to export

the hardware encoder maybe confused by the lack of clips

CBR without encoding says 49 minutes. With encoding says 30 minutes (like VBR)

that is crazy, something not right PC wise

I just tested the same duration on my PC without hardware encoder and it took 50 sec

in any case, provide a screenshot of project settings

            that looks fine

are you exporting to a drive with plenty of space? internal or external?

I'm exporting to an internal SSD drive that has 450GB of free space.

maybe the exporter is confused about the lack of clips and maybe the time remaining will drop drastically after a while

can you let it run and see if it really takes that long and have taskmanager open to see CPU and GPU usage %

I threw some clips of a low quality stock footage over the empty spaces and it now wants 2 hours and 10 minutes.

CPU usage is constantly high at export.

Also, I think there's another issue that might shed some light.
Usually, when I click CANCEL during an export, I would get a INFO popup saying something like "canceled by user" but now when I cancel, it gives me an error saying "Incorrect Function" Does this explain anything?

the incorrect function warning when you cancel is a bug in the latest versions

can you attach a system report and I look if I spot anything

By the way, what you asked about CPU and GPU usage... the GPU usage during export is 0%. Is that normal?

there has to be a GPU graph, something not right

maybe Win10 updates happening in the bg to the new 2004 version?

also, right click your CPU graph and set it to show logical processors so you see all cores

I see in your system report that you have lots of startup items including google drive sync and plex media server etc

I also noticed that your Nvidia is et to 74hz instead of the default 60hz
