  • Timeline settings for DVD & Bluray output

    Gentlemen,

I have an HD (1920) timeline. I know to just go ahead and make Blurays is OK. I also need to make DVDs. Is it best to reset the project and therefore the timeline to 720 before outputting to DVD, or will EDIUS just make the conversion to 720 itself when outputting a 1920 timeline to a DVD? Which makes the best quality DVD?

Many thanks. Stay safe and well during these horrible times.

if you change project setting to 720x480 top field first and Lanczos3 HQ enabled, your DVD will then look better because Lanczos3 downscaling is used

if you export to DVD direct from HD timeline, Lanczos3 is not used
