Correct. Unless I'm very much mistaken (and I seem to be making a lot of mistakes lately) the EDIUS HD has always and will always be available as a turnkey system only.

You can also buy it from some of our authorized dealers and system integrators, though the price is the same. For now.

Thank you so much for the clarification, Chris!

Being a dealer I'd love to sell my customer an EdiusHD but I think even the ADVC3000 is beyond his budget.

Maybe some day Edius will accept multichannel soundcards for audio output.

I can confirm that the ADVC-3000 will accept a 4 audio channel DV signal and output 4 channels of analog audio via the XLR out ports. It is the only ADVC product that will perform that function. List price: $4499 USD

The only other way to get that workflow with a GV product is to buy an EDIUS HD turnkey and use the Multi-input/output box (we call it the "MIP") for that job. Needless to say, that way is a bit more expensive....

ADVC 3000 will do the Job as well
Can you confirm that the unit will actually convert a DV stream with 4ch audio to eg YUV and four seperate analog audio channels?

Anton, customers uses Beta gear with four audio inputs, that's not the point. The point is: which hardware (converter) can extract the four audio channels embedded in a DV, 32kHz, 4ch stream?

Edius SP SDI is now dirt cheap, under USD3K
But I still would need a SDI to analog converter which provides four analog audio outputs. Any idea?

Edius SD and HD solutions can output up to 8 channels separately...I'm not sure if you can find a cheaper solution on the grass valley/canopus side...

    Outputting four audio channels seperately

Assuming someone works with a four audio channel setting (DV, 32kHz, 4ch): is there a way to output those four audio channels seperately? I know one D/A converter which can handle this (AJA LA-Io) but it's Mac only. Any ideas? TIA!
Working...
