  • Distortions in captured video

In the previous thread, I have discussed the problem of video capture and I got the help. Now I am able to captre the video directly from the MiniDV through Edius but the view of the movie is not pure; there are some distortions. Any help please?

When I play back the movie on Edius wrinkles and curved lines appear on the movie, but when the movie is played back on Windows Media Player or other players noisy lines appear.

can you post a screen grab so we can see what the problem is?

Even though the movie is very short almost 15sec but the size is above 20Mb. How can I post such a movie?

You have a choice of what to use to play back the video on the overlay.

Go to... Settings / Hardware settings

Look through the options like Generic HDV settings and Generic OHCI Settings as well as others and look for Video overlay settings

You have a choice of Direct Draw or Direct 3D9

What ever it is set to try the opther one.

You will have to change it in a couple of the settings like i listed above :)

              Haitham,

We are not asking you to send the entire movie into this forum. Just a screen capture to JPEG file (a still picture if you like) is enough. Thank you.

SRsupport asked for a "screen grab" not the movie. That means a single frame which displays the distortions you are experiencing. Just save a still picture and post that.

                Tingsern was quicker than I.

An image will not precisely show the distortions in the movie. Anyhow, I am posting a very short video clip, about 8Mb in size, in the following link for you to survey the problem.

download works from both links for me.....

transfer the 8.298KB per USB-stick to the NLE Shuttle

play it with Mediaplayer and OHCI Edius4.54 .... no difference to see for me...with both overlaysettings
(maybe, Edius a bit darker, but this a other thing...)

                            OHCI Edius4.54 on Shuttle with D950 (the space heater) \ 4GB \ 2x Raptor \ nvidia 7800GTX

I would update my video driver and try both of the overlay settings.
