  • Edius 9.10 and 7.5

Can I have both 9.10 and 7.5 on the same computer. I know other versions would work together, but not sure of this combo.

you can but why would you want to? also you should use 9.51 and not 9.1

if you must have 7, I will provide some steps you need to do in system32

You're right, I meant to say 9.51. I want to use my Matrox box without taking time to change between 9 versions. Go to 7.5 to capture and right to 9.51 to edit.

that won't work, because as soon as any version later than 9.30 is installed, capture is blocked

for best results, uninstall 9.51 and Mync and choose not to deactivate, takes 30 sec to do both

install 9.30 and start capturing (takes 30 sec to install)

when capture is done, install 9.51 (takes 30 sec, no need to uninstall 9.30)

I wish GV would reveal the reason why capture was blocked in all versions after 9.30, it makes no sense to me because Matrox captures the cleanest analog of all cards available on the market

maybe there is a feud between Matrox and GV

Yes, it is especially strange since they only have their own very high end hardware so there is nothing to protect in the middle and lower segment.

It might have been accidental and just couldn't bother to rectify it...

The Matrox box is the best, no doubt. I'm setting up a large job of 100 tapes from Beta, DigiBeta, U-matic for restoration. I think I'll just slide in my C drive with 7.5 and be done with it. I really don't need 9.51 for this job.

Would be nice if they could get the drivers working again in Eduis for guy's like me. Restoration is a big business.

I have dual boot now with Edius 9.30 on an old SSD to capture and on my fast boot M2 SSD Edius 9.51 to edit.
It's a clumsy (unprofessional) solution to reboot with client watching, also because of dual booting I can't get my fingerprint scanning to work as both windows 10 wipes it out after reboot.

Oh, Life could be so simple, but where would the fun be in that...
