hi.. i've used the multicam for almost 6 month now..but the funny thing is that.. i just realize 'the master' actually did'nt show the final footage from the timeline.
( i name them 1va=cam1 ; 2v=cam2 ; 3v=cam3 and use 'show 5monitors' )..
bcoz it goes blank when the 3v has no footage in the timeline..it should show the footage from 2v... i try to find the setting of it but can't find any.

Think you need to look at this feature in the help file or manual.
Master only shows what you switch to. It is not magically going to know what you want to switch to if one track does not have footage.

Why are you using 5 monitors when you have 3 cams?

Steve is correct... The program doesn't know what camera you want to jump to so it stays there.

Now, with that said, In the latest version of it there will be markers automatically set over areas that only has video on one track but that is as close as it is going to get :)

I tought master means what the time line is going to show...thats why we call it master right?? if not, then we should name it cam3 or cam4...
i use show 5 monitors bcoz it shows all my 3 cam input below.. n hoping to see 'master' as the final footage above 3 of them... it is how i works with my SE500 video mixer in live event.

The master always shows what if active on the timeline Always.
So you have to switch to what you want to see because EDIUS can not guess what it should switch to. A hardware switcher can't do it either.
You have to switch to cam. That's why you have TDs

I have three cams active now and use 3 monitors
1 monitor for cam 1
1 monitor for cam 2
1 monitor for cam 3

That makes 3 monitors

The master is always there so you don't count it

sorry my mistake, yes it works fine with show 3 monitors.
so u mean the master will show the active time line?.. it means the upper timeline right?(in my case the 3v timeline...) so when the 3v has no footage how should i switch to the 2v or 1v timeline in order to show them in 'master'?

1 you can click on the monitor you want with your mouse
2 use can use the 123 keys on your num pad while playing back

On the master it shows you the camera you have selected .
It does not have to be the toptrack you can switch to any track you like

Hi ongkykusuma and welcome to the Forum.

There's probably as many "best" ways to add transitions as you will get answers to your question on the Forum.

First, Multicam is not intended as a transition tool. Straight cuts on the fly, plain and simple.

After a pass in Multicam to divide your segments you can (while still in Multicam mode) pick Mode>Compress to Single Track... then with "Extend Clips" enabled you can add transitions to the new track. Sometimes messy, but fast!

Most of my Multicam stuff is cuts-only so I often manually extend the clip that needs itand make an A-B transition.

Mostly play and make mistakes... you'll get it!

i love it too..the shooting in purwodadi was great u should see the footage.
