  • Custom LUT Support

Hi everyone, does anyone know if there are plans to allow importing of custom LUTs into Edius in the future? I ask because I am finding that the current V-Log LUT for my Panasonic S1H is converting the image to have very red skin tones that I am having trouble grading. I tried the official Panasonic V-Log LUT in Premiere Pro and the results are much better.

    Thanks.

You can install custom LUT's in PCC. You do not have to use the EDIUS LUT I have some Ground Control LUT's for Vlog for my GH5's

EDIT: You hit the gear icon to the right of the Destination /Lut second line down of the PCC and you can install what ever LUT you want pointing to the directory of the LUT. You can see on this Matthew Scott clip he has lots of custom LUT's in his version of PCC. As you see this has been available since 2016.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ar0mjro90Us

Found a better example for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfxvC7EOIZU

Thank you Ron! I am a bit confused as to how these work. The LUT is in the Destination LUT not the Source LUT of PCC. Is this different than if I could apply the LUT in the Source LUT section? Thanks.

The source specifies how the source was recorded. That is Vlog for instance. The destination is how you want that source to be expressed for a final file. Could be rec709 SD, HLG or PQ for instance. Or you may want to grade to your taste for any of those outputs. At least this is my understanding so far. EDIUS lumps Gammut and Gamma together where Resolve separates them. Much as you would imagine to set input Gammut and Gamma and then select the output format.

          Custom LUT

Why is the Destination/LUT Gear Icon greyed out?
How do I activate it on my HP Elitebook 8570w laptop?

It is working well on my PC.

          Thanks.
