export your needed timeline section to a new HQ clip and close Edius
open ProCoder3 or ProCoder Express in standalone mode
load the source and select that you wish to config the source, there you can crop
then select your output target and go to advanced settings and type 640x360 and 25fps for Pal or 30fps for NTSC
here is a Canopus samle HD clip cropped and converted with PCE to 640x360

Guest repliedThanks Steve and Anton.
Anton, any format will do. Just wanted to make some animated zooming in for some butterfly and bird shots in 640x360.
I have read a member here suggested using the 3DPiP tool to do the job, how do you think about that please ?

I tested this in ProCoder and Tmpeg4, both look fine after crop and size to 640x360 (however you can't do animated crops)
what is your desired destination file format? windows media?

Well I did not know you wanted keyframes. That's not possible with the current layout tool.
Better try in AE if you have it,
But usually if you know you have to down convert you should have the action at Least in a 4:3 safe zone ( shoot with both safe zones turned on and frame the action you want in the 4:3)
That's what I think what the layout tool was intended for.
But yes it would be nice if key frames where added at some point.

Guest repliedHi, Steve, yes, I did. But may be I am mssing something, the Layer (F7) tool doesn't allow for keyframes to control when and where the zoooming and cropping should occur.
Please advise.

How to make a cropped low resolution video ?
I have a video clip of HD quality 1920x1080. I want to make a lower resolution video of 640x360 with a zooming in and cropped portion of the HD video.
I have tried the 3DPiP effect, using the positioning and scaling tools. But the resulting video is pixelated and blocky. Since my original video clip is in HD, there should be a lot of latitude for a zoomed-in and cropped low resolution clip. May be I am missing something. Please help.
Another question is how to reset or undo all the settings of the 3DPiP effect after playing around without closing the effect windows please ?
Thanks in advance.
