Effects that have alpha, such as the one your are describing, will work better when the effect is used as a filter as opposed to a transition. There will always be exceptions.
Unfortunately, the way to get these types of filters in Edius is by purchasing 3rd party plugins.

I solved it by placing the same clip on top with a mask, making a "hole" on the title point, and then put the ripple on the text and voila !
So on the bottom "clip A",one higher the text with the ripple effect,on top "clip A" with the mask "hole" and it looks like I want it !
I'm trying to work as creative (cheap) possible, because I have no income from my own holiday movies ,my wife is my sponsor bud it has its limits 8-).
I'm also a bit cautious to use other programs together with Edius.
Thanks again for Your input and time.

you could try Hitfilm Ignite 4.0 Pond Ripple or Waves
don't install the update to 4.1 as this makes it vanish from EDIUS (possibly Win7 related, I sent a support ticket)Attached FilesLast edited by antonsvideo; 10-06-2019, 03:54 AM.Leave a comment:

Hi Anton
I would use the ripple to the entire text.
Thanks for you respons / time.

you need to use a "ripple in" transition from the GPU transitions
or are you talking ripple all the way through the duration of the text?Leave a comment:

Applying an effect only to the top layer
Is there a way to apply an effect only to the top layer .
What I mean : a have a video layer and on top of this I'm placing a text (in a video layer),on this text I want to use a effect ,bud the effect goes also "true"
to the video layer.
I want to use a ripple effect on the text bud the video underneath got also a ripple effect and that is not the idea.
It will probably a simple item bud to me it's annoying.
Thx
