Yeah, but by the time everyone has the 8800GT in their Mac, the 9xxx series will come out and we're back at square one :D

I think Apple put itself in a weird situation with Intel...they now need to update much more frequently than when they were with PowerPC.

Here's a test Apple did:

It seems that there is only about 7% of difference on my 65nm processors vs. the new Penryn ones, going head to head at 3.0vs3.0. 3.2vs.3.0, the speed increase is about 10%. Not much if you ask me.

I think the biggest achievement is that it eats less power, so your computer wont get so hot....and SSE4, which is a new one from Intel.
