In order to get an MVC output, you will need to use other software such as Sony or Magix.

3D has a resurgence, it seems, every decade. The interest now is in higher resolution and High Dynamic Range.
That said, I don't see GV adding the MVC codec to Edius for two reasons alone. Interest in 3D has fallen off of the charts plus there is the license cost to Sony for the use of the MVC codec.
    Thanks for the replys.

What specific Sony software can output MVC?

I bought my 3D camcorder in 2012 and I have made a lot of beautiful movies during my many trips (Yellowstone, Indian Country, Australia, Greece, Israël, Jordan, Viet Nam,....) and everyone agrees it would be a pity to see that in 2D !!!

Boils down to who wants to wear special viewing gearon aregular basis? VR gamers maybe. Not many others except as a novelty or for a few specific big screen movies.

    3D Blue Ray...

EDIUS is the best editor for 3D movies and accepts all kind in Input. You have to save your project in a file (dual frame 3D). Then you MUST use Magix Vegas to compile it on a mvc project and burn a Blue Ray. EDIUS unfortunately lacks this feature and we are not powerful enough to get it....

    Convert 3D Blu ray

    Hello,

I am trying to convert a 3D Blu ray ([email protected] Frame Packing) to a 720p(1280x720) @24Hz Frame Packing.

The files for testing are the 1st and 5th from 3D Test Clips:

The 5th is a 3D MVC MKV file and is not accepted.
The 1st is an ISO that is a functional 3D Frame packing type video.

When right clicking and selecting Set Stereoscopic there is nothing there.
Drag that file from the left to the right (underneath the 2 viewports).
Exporting it to either Blu ray disc or file does not seem to get the proper file.
In the Stream folder on the ISO there are 2 files, and only one of them seems to get copied (00000).

What is the process/settings to obtain either a 3D Blu ray @720p (FP) or an MVC MKV file?

    Thank you.
