  • Edius WG 9.40.5106

I downloaded and installed this Version.
Tried to set up a timeline > 4K without success.

    Your Read Me File:
ProRes422 8K export consuming too much memory

You are goofing with improvements which are not existing.
    That is not sincere.

It was posted before on this forum that at this time 8k is an paid option for our turnkey systems.
So yes that is an honest improvement for our 8K systems which are being used to produce 8k content by Broadcast stations and Production houses.

Here you go a google translate from our Japanese website:
    【受注終了】 HDWS 8K Expressは、Grass Valleyが誇る8K対応EDIUSターンキーシステムの最新シリーズです。HDWS 8K Expressは、快適な4K映像編集で定評のあるHDWSシリーズのハードウェアに8K編集・

HDWS 8K Express is the latest series of Grass Valley's 8K compatible EDIUS turnkey systems. HDWS 8K Express is a turnkey system equipped with a special license of EDIUS Workgroup 9 that has 8K editing and 8K file export functions on HDWS series hardware that has a reputation for comfortable 4K video editing. The video out-conversion function makes it possible to preview 8K edited video on a 4K monitor, and it can be introduced while reducing the initial cost when constructing an 8K video editing environment. Combined with the professional non-linear editing software "EDIUS Workgroup 9", a comfortable 8K editing environment can be realized.

I am reluctent to check if the Read Me File of a SW Download is correct or not.
In this case the Read Me is not correct - what one could expect.
      Regardless what you communicated elsewhere.
So this is not sincere !

The readme is correct as one version goes out. Simple.

The readme has always been for all versions of Edius. There is a separate license for Pro, Workgroup, and 8k. Just because a feature is not included with your license, does not mean that the readme is incorrect.

Agreed. Just in case I made an edit to my post about the update to make it crystal clear that it is only available for our turnkeys at this time. :)
