  • Overview of the EDIUS ID Activation System - Case study

I have read this sticky thread. Good idea because it is essentiel.

    Actual situation

English is not my native language and may be I have not see the answer of my question.

One of my client has his PC Edius in a flat where he goes time to times without any regularity. There is no modem/router for internet. Only the 4G connection is possible... but people of GV confirm that it can be source of issues.

Today, Edius refuse to start because too long between 2 uses and a mail of GV announce a 24 hours delay to reconnect what has been missed.

    Solution

I will go in these flat, connect 4G again and see if I can restard Edius.
If not I suppose I will have to send a message to GV and ask a new restard...?

For the future... finally my question

Having myself a WG version and so no practize of "reconnection" I ask how it is possible (after re-activation) to freeze the situation and be able to maintain activation of Edius (with a file ?) and use Edius even when no internet connection.

I have seen a box with padlock symbols but reading the user manual do not help me to understand the procedure (my weak english).

I have the deep feeling that my client, not speaking english is not alone to meet these situation taking the 4G also into account)...so I think that a sticky thread for people who have lost completely the use of Edius (but knowing still their EId and licence number) should be fine

Thanks for help to solve that with a step by step procedure.

EDIUS WG does not need any internet other than initial activation

If I would be you, I would sell all clients the WG version, it is what I do 99%

Yess, you right. Should I know that my client was a sporadic user... I would have done it, not for him in fact, but for my peace because it is not the first time it appends and I have to invest time to solve his problem.

I hope someone can give me the procedure or a link... that explain it !

EDIUS 9 Pro needs periodic internet connection, as far as I know there is no way to overcome it with a file

Imagine doing a documentary in the Colombian Jungle and editing on the fly with the Pro version. it won't work for long :)

No way that I know of to do this. It would go against the very reason that you have to connect in the first place.
