  • Batch export

    Hi,

Batch export is an interesting tool when doing mp4 for video souvenirs... A Hi8 cassette is generally 90 minutes and as in a DVD menu it's more convenient to create small files with a number or a date wich respect the time chronology.

But I have not found to possibility to create these files with an automatic name based on the list of the time line indexes.

In the DVD menu these names are integrated by default (or replaced by "chapter") when nothing is written in the list....

I would like to know if when In&Out are decided if recuperate the IN name index may be programmated

    Thanks for help

Macro Generator Pro can be programmed, via a custom macro, to batch export from cut point to cut point and name the file based on the timeline timecode.

I have not explored the options of different naming schemes.

With Magic Automa you can speed up your workflow, in our daily work we always do repetitive actions in the same way, stop, reflect, and identify what these actions are, you can incorporate all these actions in a single action and make your work more organized and faster.

      Thank you

It is not the first time that I see on this forum that MG Pro is a serious help.

Last question : I suppose that I have to buy the MacroGenerator Pro for EDIUS.

Thanks in advance... (again software to learn... I am 67 !)

If your question is, whether or not there are are different versions of Macro Generator, then: no, I don't think so. The special "for Edius" promotion is, because the creator is an Edius user (if I remember correctly). You may download the Macro Generator for trial, and test and see if it runs smoothly along with your Edius version.

No, Macro Generator Pro is not a a free software, but it is not extremely expensive either.

I just went through a little bit of support back and forth with the creator (Walter Iermano) about this very issue of generating a batch export, and can easily say that he is very responsive and helpful.

He sent me a couple of test builds while we were fixing a little bug that I noticed, and has just officially released a new build. I have not had a chance yet to test the new official build, but hope to do that over the next few days.

There are many shortcut features in MGP that I don't use in a normal editing session, but it is great for automating those tasks that are very repetitive and cumbersome to perform.
