If I have a 720p camera can I use a 1080i camera as covershot then use ProCoder to convert it to make it match better?

That is, after all, what Edius is all about..."Realtime mixed-format editing," right?

I guess im a bit worried, I have a GY-HD 100 and I cant afford another one just for a cover shot. I was thinking about the new Sony (one chip) as a cover or maybe the JVC 3 chip Enviro or whatever its called. I understand they wont "match" perfectly I just dont want it to look too weird.Randy

The Canon HV20 is getting the highest PQ marks at its price and size. You might check into that.
I don't think you're going to find anything weird looking about mixing 720 and 1080 video on an Edius timeline.

I have a GY-HD110 and shot a wedding in HDV and used a Canon XH-A1 as a second camera. As a shooter/editor I could tell the difference but I doubt "the average joe" could. I just used 720p project preset and imported the 1080i footage. No problem mixing formats. Final output was SD for now but it didn't "look weird." Certainly better than when I've used a DSR300 with vx1000! Even then noone ever said anything about the second camera cut-away shots.
