Is anyone using Boris FX RED 4.2 plugin with Edius 4.54, are there any known issues? Any problems editing in SD, 720p or 1080i? If so is Boris working on these issues?
EDIUS X WG with BM Mini Monitor 4k and BM Mini Recorder, Gigabyte X299 UD4 Pro, Intel Core i9 9960X 16 Core, 32 Threads @ 4.3Ghz, Corsair Water Cooling, Gigabyte RTX-2070 Super 3X 8GB Video Card, Samsung 860 Pro 512GB SSD for System, 8TB Samsung Raid0 SSD for Video, 2 Pioneer BDR-209 Blu-ray/DVD burners, Hotswap Bay for 3.5" Sata and 2.5" SSD, Phanteks Enthoo Pro XL Tower, Corsair 32GB DDR4 Ram, Win10 Pro
Boris works OK with SD but the field order is wrong when used as filter or transition with HDV in 4.54, Boris is referring all files from inside Edius as lower field first and HDV is upper field first, makes for a rather jittery playback.
I put a report into Boris and asked if an interim solution could be made for Edius HDV with a permanent selection of "Upper field" when comming from Edius for those who are using HDV but I may as well have sent to a black hole.
So be it I now use Mercalli and Vitascene both work exceptionally well with Edius, in fact in most cases there is no need to render like from Boris.
There seems to have been a disconnect between the two somewhere after 4.01

I have used Red 4.2 within Edius 4.54 and outputted as an uncompressed avi with no apparent problems. What sort of problems are people having? I did notice the wrong field order as mentioned.

No problem if Boris used as a stand alone, output using Canopus HQ works a dream with Transparent alpha, but if used as a filter or transition with HDV the filter or transition has jitter (incorrect field)

Finally got a reply from Boris they have recognized they have a problem and are looking into it.
It may become useful after all
