I shot a wedding with GY-HD100 720p, I am going to start editing it so I used P.C. 3 to convert the files to Canopus HQ I use the 1080i HQ preset my files are now like 6X larger than they were a 7.7 gig ceremony is like 44 gigs did I use the right preset?

most likely. HQ is something like 4x the size of a DV file...
