Hello people , i live in argentina..and sorry for my english.I have a question
anybody have the hard disk recording sony dsr-dr1000? how put the archives with extension .dvd load in edius? .dvd is a archive generated by sony but..i cant load in edius. any advice?

I think all you have to do is change the .dvd to .mpg or .m2t and Edius should then recognise the files.
This will take a lot of work so you can download a program called "Oscars file renamer" from
http://www.mediachance.com
and this will allow you to do a global change of all selected files
The same problem used to occur with the JVC HD cameras but I think GV have fixed that one.
You would think Camera Manufacturers would have the sense to use correct naming of files, not very bright

thanks , but i change to mpg, avi, mov and nothing happens . i do not try yet to m2t and qt, my laptop friend´s is a mac and the archives recognized is ok. but here in my dual xeon and edius sp nothing happens..i will try to change the extension to m2t or qt.

Are you using firewire? which firewire protocol are you using? you should be able to use it in the AV/C mode like a regular firewire capture

I have the same problem. I got whole concerte in .DVD files and Edius cant open it. I try to change all extensions and nothing. But funny things is that I can watch all clips in my friend MAC. Even Premiere which he have instaled recognize those files.

So, anyone have any suggestion what to do?

Hola! i'm from Colombia and (of course) speaks spanish but, to share with the forum i'll write in english...

i was in Bs As in 2007 in hte CAPER (like a "latin' version of NAB) and talk with some guy from SONY Miami... it results that the DSR1000 use that kind of files to share or tranfer between thoose: it means that it was made only to move files from one DSR to another DSR using NET... we have 6 or 7 of theese in our trucks and wanted to use this feature to "move" the video intead of "capture" the video...

in your VCR menu just be sure to enable "i.link" instead of "9 pin" and put it in Player mode, that way you can capture using edius...
