  • Laptop died, what to do for Activation on New One?

    Hello,

My laptop with the 2nd Edius 8 activation died suddenly. I have replaced the laptop and would like to use my 2nd activation on this machine but it seems I am stuck. Since the computer died abruptly, I was not able to deactivate it.

So what should I do now? If I deactivate on my desktop it seems like I will only get one activation back. Thanks for your help.

Contact your Edius reseller or GV support and ask to have an activation released due to a system/drive failure. You may need you proof of purchase for Edius handy.

Thanks. I will contact support. I was hoping there was a trick to be had inside the license manager.

Nope. No trick. Licenses are administered on the server and need to be released there. The license manage just talks to the server to activate/install/verify the license, using a signature associated with your computer, locking the install to the computer.
