Is there a way to delete created proxies within edius 9wg?

I have never found one. I always go into the media folder and delete manually.

Yes, that is what I do now as well, I have been working with davinci resolve lately and there you do have a one click option to remove proxies within the program which made me think I might have overlooked this obvious function in Edius but apparantly not.
