  • How do you convert Edius 9 trial version to purchased version?

I have a new computer that doesn't have my previously purchased Edius 8 on it. I do have my Edius 8 serial # from the 'my page' area of the Grass Valley site. I installed the trial version of Edius 9 on the new computer and would now like to convert the trial version to the purchased version.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Yes open the license manager click on the online activation button and input your EDIUS 9 serial number.

You can also do this from the input serial number the help menu. Help-> serial number registration

Is that a typo? You have Edius 8 but try to install and register the 9 version?

I looked for the license manager but can't seem to find it.

Look in the notification area of your OS. If you hover over it it will say "GV license manager".

I guess I wasn't clear. I have the purchased version of Edius 8 on a different computer. The Edius 9 trial version is on my new computer and that's the computer I want to install the purchased version.

That's why I wrote "input your EDIUS 9 serial number" to make it clear that a valid EDIUS 9 serial number is needed to activate EDIUS 9. :)

OK, so I have a new issue. I purchased the full version and entered the Edius 9 serial # that was emailed. It then asked for my Edius 8 serial # which I copied and pasted from the Grass Valley site. It now says 'The previous serial # is invalid". Not sure what to do now.

In the box that opens up after you input the Edius 9 serial #. Once you input the Edius 9 serial #, a new box opens up asking for the prior version's serial #. That's where I entered the Edius 8 #.

Just to clarify, I'm assuming this product # (EDIUS Pro 8 SP NFR 8.00) is referencing Edius 8 on the 'my page' on the Grass Valley site. I used the serial # for this product in the new box that opened up requesting the previous version's serial #.

Are you using an NFR EDIUS 8 serial number as the previous serial? If so that could the problem NFR and EDU serials cannot be use for an update as far as I know.

Steve, I'm not sure what "NFR" stands for, but yes, that is the serial # I'm using. So what should I do at this point? I already paid the $199 + download protection. :(

NFR means NOT FOR RESALE. This is usually a license issued to resellers by most manufacturers, and sometimes also to educational institutions if there isn't a separate educational license.
