I have a client who wants to see a ray of light pass over the logo. Is there such a filter on Edius. Looked all over but don't see.

    thanks

Ahh the clichéd Shine effect :)

It can be done in a few ways:

    1. Outside of Edius, if you have After Effects. There are a bunch of free CC filters included for free in CS3, so you don't even need to buy Trapcode Shine.

    2. Inside of Edius with Vitascene.

Grab the Vitascene demo, it's for 30 days with no watermarks. If it comes in handy, you might want to buy it as it's a nice effect package.

That effect is can also be done in Photoshop CS3 Extended.
If you belong NAPP, they even have a tutorial online on how to do it.

If you have an animation of the "shine" you can also put the animation on a higher video track and use one of the Blend keyers (like multiply) on the "shine" clip to achieve a similar effect. Depends on the background of the object being "shined" though.
