exit edius, dump your temp files, reboot the computer.

first step in troubleshooting unexplainable problems with a computer.

The easiest way to dump the temp files is to type %tmp% in the windows search dialog or the address bar of windows explorer/my computer

This will bring you to the windows temp folder. Delete everything in the folder. If you get an error about files not deleting, hit the skip button. These are files that are in use by running programs, which is why I said exit Edius first.

If you wish you can drag a shortcut to this folder on to your desktop to make it easier to get there in the future. It is advisable to dump these files regularly as part of general housekeeping.

To answer your question to Pat: System Settings > Importer/Exporter > Quicktime. Checkbox there to enable the importer. This however requires that you download and install Quicktime 7.7.9 first, if you haven't done it already.
