  • Edius Pro 9 / DNxHD mxf import

    Hello,

Is it possible to import and edit dnxhd mxf in Edius Pro 9?

I know the quicktime solution, but I need to edit mxf. I installed Avids dnxhd codecs, but Edius Pro still can not import. Edius says "codec type not supported".

    Thanks!

The free avid codecs are a quicktime plugin so the DNxHD has to be quicktime wrapped. DNxHD that is MXF wrapped requires native support in Edius. This is an optional $499 for Edius pro. https://www.videoguys.com/grass-vall...hd-option.html

This is included in Edius WG
Edius WG 9.55.9157, various 3rd party plugins, VisTitle 2.9.6.0, Win 7 Ultimate SP1, i7-4790K @ 4GHz with HD4600 GPU embedded, MSI Z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard, 32GB Kingston HyperX RAM, nVidia GTX680 4GB GPU, Matrox MX02 Mini MAX, Corsair 750W PSU, Corsair H110i GT Water Cooler, Corsair C70 case, 8TB Internal RAID 0/stripe (2x4TB Seagate SATAIII HDD's, Win7 Software stripe), 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD, Pioneer BDR-207D, Dual 1920x1080 monitors (one on GTX680 and one on Intel HD4600).

The DnxHD mxf feature for the Pro version makes Edius able to export Type5 AAF for Media Composer?

I know the Workgroup version can export Type5 AAF, the question is about the Pro version.

      Thanks for Your help!

Your original question was about editing not aaf export. I don't know if this will allow for the aaf exports, but I would hazard a guess that it will if pro has aaf export capabilities already.

However, if you are considering purchasing this option, for what it costs, you might be better off considering a pro to workgroup update instead, as you will get more than just mxf support.
