  • Storm Files can not open

I transferred a lot of my DVCam tapes to hdds and want to edit them now in Edius Broadcast.
Originally, I used Storm Video via the Storm 2 card to capture the footage.
Now I want to open them and always get an error message " Failed to open file" [Could not open file].
I set the project settings to DV NTSC 29.97i 4:3.
Also when I try to open the avi file with Storm Video, I get the message: "This AVI File format not supported"
Since there are about 20 tapes, I hope I do not need to import them all again....?

    Merry Christmas

If you captured reference files and moved them to a new location you have to download ref avi manager to fix them.

            refavimgr.exe not there

            sigh. refavimgr.exe is not there.

We are a production company whom backed up a VERY large project years ago. All the source was captured as Canopus Reference AVIs. This project now needs to be worked on, and we have all the AVIs and associated reference files, but all the linkage is missing/incorrect and the files do not play. There are thousands of these files.

Do you know of a batch utility that works in XP for re- associating them? Luckly, it's all organized - unluckly, there's a huge amount. Thanks.

I know this is an Edius forum, but I hope you can still help me with this. I had done some unfinished edit work using DVStorm 2. Now when I open Storm2 and select my current project it tells me that the AVI is not supported. It worked fine before. Then Storm2 closes itself out. I have Let's Edit and tried to open my Storm2 project in it and had no success as well. I want to be able to finish his project so I can migrate over to Edius 2. I would like to be able to open my project in Storm2, complete it and retire Storm2.
                        Thanks

No, I didn't. I wanted to learn more about the software. This is what i found: "Note: This software requires that EDIUS v3.0 or higher, or EDIUS Neo v1.0 or higher, be installed on the same system".
I only have Edius v2. Is all of my edited work I did in DVStorm gone for good?.

I don't think so. Install the software and repair the files.
If you don't you can keep asking 10.000 questions which will all lead to "FIX THE FILE WITH REFAVI MANAGER" first.
1 download the file from the link provided by BH.
2 run the exe this will unzip the file.
3 run the installer it is in Japanese don't worry the app is in English

After you have repaired the file try your project again.
