Problems in registrations - edius -

I formatted my pc so I had to reinstall the same copy of edius and canopus procoder I had already successfully installed, but when I click on "web" as favorite way of registration, it says it can't generate the url.
Without the url I can't register my copy! And I'm sure it works, as it was already installed before!
Can anybody help? Maybe sending me the url? Thank you very much...

Sending you the URL won't do any good. You need to contact your local support and they will take care of it.

I thought EDIUS all use USB doggle these days? I don't need to register at website to activate the product.

My copy is on cd, and I have to type the code during installation, but than i have to register my copy or it stands for 30 days. But I need the url that edius should generate by clicking on "web" in the registration mask, but doing this it appears an error saying "it failed to generation the url of activation [25]".
So I'm stuck, because I cant register and my trial days are running away...

@ pjsssss: what do you mean with my local support? Online, in shops, or whatelse?

Looks like your method of activation is different from mine. This EDIUS uses a USB dongle. What version of EDIUS are you using? I am using EDIUS Broadcast.

Mine is edius pro 3.01...

Can't recall whether my old version 3 requires me to register with website ... I don't remember doing it at all. Looks like Glass Valley must have changed the product activation between about 2 years back and now.

EDIUS v3.x sold without hardware requires online (Internet) activation. The URL is specific to that computer installation and serial number.

If you can't get the online activation to work, give support a call.

In EDIUS v4.x, regardless of whether you have EDIUS hardware or not, the license is governed by the USB dongle, so online activation is not required.

As Brandon and I explained, the URL is specific to your computer. So someone else's would not do you any good. "Local support" is GV support. Go to the DV website and check the contact number for your part of the workd. If you contact them, they will take care of the problem for you.

That is correct. Just give support a call. This problem happened several times back in the activation days. I think it was a catalyst for going with the dongle.

Anyway I managed to solve the problem: disabling the UAC in Vista allows edius to generate the link, at least on the browser.
Hope this will be useful to somebody...
