    Just installed 7.52 under the 4K project settings I shot with a Sony z90 in 4k 30p
Which 4K setting would I set up for this in the project settings and also I'm starting a new HD project and cannot figure out how to set up a new HD preset
When I go to new project it just shows the one 4K setting that I set up, although I'm not sure if I have the right settings on that one.
Also I have run speakers into my computer but for whatever reason I'm not hearing the playback on the timeline I'm actually monitoring the speakers through headphones

check the clip properties of the camera, it most likely will be 29.97 fps (never 30p)

    set the project the same

be sure to update to 7.53

what does "I'm getting on the equalizer bars" mean? do you mean you can see sound movement on the VU meter?

what is your preview device? OHCI or an output card? if output card, speakers need to be connected to output card, if OHCI, PC speakers will work

Yes I see on the VU meter
OHCI, if I play something on Windows media player it's fine, but off timeline, nothing.
          Very odd

can I see a screenshot of the timeline with audio waveforms and track headers visible

also, check the audio monitoring mode switch on the VU meter, make sure it is in off position

also, make sure project setting is on stereo, 2 channel audio

also, very important: when installing EDIUS7, you are asked if you wish to install directx, if you do not tick it, you will have no audio in EDIUS

since you have 7.52, download 7.53 and then install over top, then tick directx during installation, by default it is unticked

and since you use Generic OHCI, you need to be sure that Realtek is the default sound device
