I'm considering using idvd for their animated menus, I have an old G4 with which I've been using Livetype, question: what should I save my Edius timeline as that will be able to be used in my Mac's iDVD program. Gary

Microsoft DV should work fine. Uncompressed AVI as well.
iDVD does the encoding itself, so you can load the files in there. Just a warning, the aspect ratio for your Microsoft DV files might not be recognized correctly in iDVD, so make sure to check if it's ok before burning.
Hope this helps. By the way, which version of iDVD? I have tried MSDV with the latest iDVD for a quickie DVD job. Worked ok. -
Just happened to be in an Apple store yesterday (sorry), played with idvd 8, very cool templates for the right applacations. For eight years I've done all of my dvd's in DVD studio pro or idvd..I'm can't believe that nothing on the PC side looks as good as the DVD apps or Livetype. If you could prove me wrong, I'd rather stay with the PC ..Gary (Thanks for the quick answer)..Comment

Events are not the majority of my business anymore. Either way, customers do not care about menus nor would they even use it if I made them. I did tests before.Comment
