  • Edius 9.0 - error during installation

I'm trying to install EDIUS 9 trial version. I had EDIUS 8 installed (also trial) a year ago but uninstalled it.
When installer finishes copying all files it starts to roll back all changes and ends with an error 0x80070001.

Below is a dump from log:

you are only allowed one EDIUS trial per PC

since you had EDIUS8 trial installed, you can only install EDIUS 9 trial if you replace the C drive and install Windows fresh (or fully format the existing drive and then reinstall Win)

if the OP, he can't install 9 trial, that is normal since he had 8 trial

          > who is "he" ??

sorry for my bad english, but you know my native language... LOL

"he" was meant for the Original Poster "raczek" from Poland

I understand you correctly, you describe to me:
A user who havel Edius 8 tested and deinstalled the trial a year ago
can not test a new full version 9 or maybe 10 (as a trial) at a later date?

If that's really true and I publish as moderator in the German forum breaks (imho completely rightfully) a shitstorm going on ..

you understood correct, he can install EDIUS9 with a full serial, but he can't install EDIUS9 with a trial serial since GV only allow one trial of any EDIUS version on the same hard disk

to overcome this, you need to reformat C drive and reinstall Windows, then EDIUS9 trial will work

in meiner meinung ist das nicht ideal, aber es ist so.....

I spoke with Japan and they said that is not true. The trial restriction is only per version. So having a trial version of 8 should not prevent you from later having a trial version of 9.

that is good news if true

I had several customers who had EDIUS8 trial installed and then 9 trial installation failed

I will test that myself next time it happens to someone via remote login
