It is horizontal zooming resolution that affects it, not vertical height zooming. At least in what was demonstrated to me.

I don't know about the rubber band tool. As I said in my original post, I am not an Edius editor. However, I am a ProTools user, and my experience with volume automation when applied to this is pretty straightforward. He has the dots to guide the volume automation in the correct place, but is not getting consistent playback results depending on horizontal zooming.

How can I tell if the waveform is in logarithmic or linear mode? How does that affect automation playback?

If they are using rubber bands, changing the height of the track should not affect the audio. Make sure the rubber band is in the corrdct spot. Are you using Log or Linear for the waveform?

Audio automation affected by zoom resolution

We have several Edius editing stations running 7.53b10. I am a supporting technician, and not an editor. An editor showed me where audio volume automation was affected by how far in/out he was zoomed on the timeline. For example, if the dialog was "This is an example", and the volume automation was set to turn off the audio after "an", the volume may turn off during "an" or early in "example" based on how zoomed in he was on the timeline. Has anyone else experienced this?
