    I hear the SP dropped down to ~$2,800 with the breakout box...and the SP SD-SDI is around $3,700 $US now (which is not available in the U.S.?)

    The Edius SP card will be the best solution. You get: RS-422, component I/0, balanced audio and Edius Broadcast, too.

    ADVC700 is a bidirectional analog/DV video converter...

    You just plug it in any firewire port in your computer and you will be able to use your beta deck like a common dv deck...

    The NX board is not required at this point...

    DVStorm and Edius NX boards do not have RS422 device control so you can not do it...

    You need at least an Edius SP board or an ADVC 700

    We have the Edius NX PCI Express board with expanision board. Can we not control our beta deck using the 9 pin control? Counldn't we do that with the storm card? I need to do a batch list on several beta tapes. Ant help?
