DVStorm and Edius NX boards do not have RS422 device control so you can not do it...

You need at least an Edius SP board or an ADVC 700

Will the ADVC 700 work with the NX board the we have and how does it connect the the board?

        ADVC700 is a bidirectional analog/DV video converter...

You just plug it in any firewire port in your computer and you will be able to use your beta deck like a common dv deck...

The NX board is not required at this point...

The Edius SP card will be the best solution. You get: RS-422, component I/0, balanced audio and Edius Broadcast, too.

I hear the SP dropped down to ~$2,800 with the breakout box...and the SP SD-SDI is around $3,700 $US now (which is not available in the U.S.?)
