As far as I know, there is no mp3 export in Edius. Use a freeware software instead, like Audacity.

... and what conclusion does it mean ?

Today, I have to first export the sound of the video in wav... and then open another program to transcode to mp3.

Why Edius do not offer this mp3 codec directly from the time line ?

Sometimes the soundtrack has to be transmitted for control, corrections and son on.

        Useful, it would be

Edius simply doesn't have MP3 exporter and it probably won't change as MP3 is getting outdated.
          Severe reality, I think.

Is there a particular reason for using MP3? Unless it's being used for temp audio etc. or for faster low bandwidth internet delivery, it's not the best codec for the best quality audio.

If you don't know the difference between Azimuth and Asimov, then either your tapes sound bad and your Robot is very dangerous. Kill all humans...... Or your tape deck won't harm a human, and your Robot's tracking and stereo imagining is spot on.

You give the answer in the question and in my previous post : Sometimes the soundtrack has to be transmitted for control, corrections and so on.

Just to permit to one of my client to listen to a conference of 2h30 (with Powerpoint images) in his car while driving... he has a USB connection in his radiocar. Some other people asks me to have a CD audio of his lesson readable on CD player. It's not a question of quality level (just a voice).

              Thanks to given your advice

Does Edius export AAC on its own? If so, yes, a better option for low bitrate audio and quicker turnaround than export to WAV and re-encoding to MP3.
