Straight to the point: I yanked the nvidia 6600 from my Edius NX system and replaced it with an e-GeForce nVidia 8800GT and the freezing that has plagued my system since Edius 4 seems to have evaporated with the switch.
I've suspected the 6600 for awhile, and my turnkey system (running Edius 3) has been prone to crashing. Tech support confirmed an issue with the card, and this switch has the system running the best it ever has.
Since the upgrade to Edius 4, my system would freeze at any given moment, for no discernible reason. So far, since the nVidia 8800GT replacement, I haven't experienced the slightest glitch (knock on wood). Edius 4.54 is really quite great to work with.
