That will make a lot of people happy if that can be done. But it should be selectable as many have learned to love the new way.

Option/restoration of the EDIUS v3.x slip/slide/ripple/roll methods is on the wish list.

Thanks Rusty, I'll keep working on it & will get used it soon for sure. Am working on a project right now, so I'm sure a few hours/days down the line it'll all be second nature... The person I'm doing this for wanted the whole project done in avid, and although it was captured into an avid machine, I've ended up converting everything into high-res quicktime for use in Edius... Not quite sure where I stand with the non-linear editing debate, but I've found Edius to be pretty good so far... Avid seems un-necessarily complicated... it's what you're used to I guess...

    Welcome to the Forum Alpha1234!

Like all software, version change requires some adaptation. Definitely a hit to productivity each time.

I get down on my knees and thank the nearest available god that Edius is NOT owned by the likes of Autodesk... Protools, Autocad, yuck! Yes, they do everything, but they're all jumbled with every antiquated keystroke from v1!

Just be thankful this product doesn't require a collage course to learn. Do one thing and do it well.

I've just spent two hours reading the 'help' information for the new shortcuts for ripple, slip etc...

    REALLY frustrating.

Why is there no option for the old way of doing things?

that was what made Edius so good & so fast!

    Why why why why?

Am trying to learn the new way & am sure I'll get there once I rewire my brain!!!

Still, it seems too many clicks for something that was done infinately quicker before.

Will get there eventually, but it's such a time waster... And the description given in the manual/help file is NOT clear... badly written.

Shame, as it spoils an otherwise brillant NLE!

In Edius 3.X it was different way of doing things but with 4.5X you select the edges you want to pull or trim by holding the ALT key and left clicking on those edges, You then let go of the alt key and grab one of the edges and trim away! :)

    Forget, yes, way too much!

But I know I used to be able to hold Alt and drag the clip! Now I can't (hold Alt) (shrug?)

Always works for me. 100% let go of the alt key is the "key"

Yes, the correct tool shows up and it occasionally works, but 99.9% of the time it seems stuck... like there's too much "Snap" going on. Making me a little nuts!

started a topic Where Did This Feature Go?

    Where Did This Feature Go?

Ok... it seems to me that since the arrival of the ability to link, group and ripple I've lost the ability to extend audio or video (semi)independently.

You know the command... Hold Alt, click the audio or video track to get the yellow flag and unique cursor and drag the track end as desired. Pretty cool.

Well, now the flag and cursor appear, but the track is stuck. :(

Ripple on or off, no difference.

My current workaround is to unlink/ungroup adjust end and regroup.
Working...
