  • Transitions

After a multi camera edit and compressing to single track, I'm unable to put transitions in on the whole track. Control A just shifts the cursor half way down the line instead of highlighting the track. I tried a new project and control A worked to highlight the whole track and I could put fades in. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Do you have "Extend Clips" on?

You may need try another method to select the clips you want to apply transitions to.

Yes, "extend clips" is on. Circling the clips works. Is there an easier way to highlight clips then circling them? Any suggestions on what might have gone wrong to start out with?

      Thanks,

You can use Shift-Click or Ctrl-Click to select too.

        Hope that helps!

This works for up to 10 minutes at a time, but does not highlight the whole project.

If it is all on one track, change your timeline to fit (very easily done with CTRL + mousewheel scroll), then drag your box around the clips and apply the transition. Takes about 2 seconds to do.

What do you know, I found the real culprit to this problem. In trimming an audio clip it must have been linked to a video clip and created a gap. Once the gap was closed it worked fine the way it always had. Strange that the obvious is never obvious.
