  • Batch Export in EDIUS 7.53

I would like to know if there is a way to set as default the option "Export between IN to OUT" in the Batch Export menu?

I will normally mark the section of video to be exported by clicking the IN and OUT icons.

I am able to click on the option "Export between IN and OUT" under "PRINT TO FILE" and it remains ticked.

Unfortunately - I can't figure out why it won't work in the Batch Export "Add to Batch Export" menu.

    Thank you.

Just rechecked on my 7.5 drive and works fine here. Not sure what you are missing.
    Check this workflow:

Mark in and out on sequence
    Open Batch Export window
    Right Click - select New
    Print to File dialogue opens
TICK export between In and Out
    Select output format
    Click add to Batch List
    Insert File name
REPEAT with other additions to list.

once you have printed to file once with in and out ticked, it will remain ticked for any future print to file or add to batch

so print to file a 1 sec section and tick in and out, and that's it for any batch exports going forward

Just to clarify Anton, if you re-run the batch, (maybe you want to change a data rate of an mp4 or run with/without TC etc) it will use the original settings unless you edit the timings in Batch Capture or Delete the entry and add it back in.
Either way you should still be able to have batch capture list which is working on in and outs for each entry.
Just a thought, I wonder if the o/p is asking whether you can have a GLOBAL in and out for every item without setting it, in which case NO you cannot. You have to set each one seperately.

I don't see that happening on my system.

I mark IN/OUT - Select Batch Export - click on the ADD

          a) The EXPORT between IN/OUT is off. I click on it to turn it on.
          b) Fill up the file name to be exported on the next window.
          c) It adds that entry into Batch Export list.

I then mark IN/OUT on the next section - and click on the ADD icon within the Batch Export -

The EXPORT between IN/OUT is off again. See the screen capture -

BC1 - the initial Batch Export - no entry in the sequence yet. Export between IN and OUT is off.

          BC2 - I clicked it on

BC3 - I have added a sequence (you can see that above) - and about to add another sequence in. You can see the Export Between In and Out is off again.

I am sure I must have done something wrong here :-).

          Thank you,

              Hi Dave,

              Your sequence is below -

Mark in and out on sequence
              Open Batch Export window
              Right Click - select New
              Print to File dialogue opens
TICK export between In and Out
              Select output format
              Click add to Batch List
              Insert File name
REPEAT with other additions to list.
              EXPORT

              After INSERT file name,
I then Mark the next in and out on sequence,
              Right click - select New
Print to File dialogue opens again ...
(BUT - the export between In and Out - is cleared).

So it is either my software that is clearing it or I must have mis-interpreted your instructions.

              Thank you.

Yes but you tick it again-for each addition, which because you REPEAT it is what you do for each NEW entry.
Screenshot is two clips from one sequence. It could easily be 20+

I am sorry - but I don't get you, Dave.

                  Click add to Batch List
                  Insert File name
REPEAT with other additions to list.

Can you tell me exactly the sequence for ONE REPEAT ... what did you enter? Because I keep getting the EXPORT BETWEEN IN AND OUT cleared each time I do that.

                  Thank you.

                    Try this:
Add to bacth with either Project format or Default exporter (you can set what you want/make your own preset) and it will follow in and out automatically.

With add to export you are presented with a choice each time that what David is trying to explain.

Screen shot is from 8 don't have 7 on any machine anymore.

I'm trying hard not to lose patience [GRIN] but you are not reading what I wrote.

TO START: You select Batch Capture from the drop down export menu NOT from print to file. As I wrote before, "you tick it again-for each addition, which because you REPEAT it is what you do for each NEW entry". "It" being export between IN and OUT

I never need to tick export between in and out when batch exporting because it is already ticked, see attached
