I maybe trying to do something that is not possible. Using Edius 8.5 trying to export a still )bmp) created from the timeline to a Jpeg crashes Edius. Has anybody experienced this?

If you are saying that you have a Bitmap still created by Edius on the timeline and you now want to create a .jpg still from the bitmap, then this process does
work. I just did it.Jerry

Hi Jerry, thanks for trying. If I capture a still from the timetime, place it back on the timeline with an in/out marker, then go to export, select still, select jpeg, when I start export, Edius crashes. hope that explains a bit better. why in and out marker? are you trying to export a jpg sequence (many stills in one hit)?
add the "save image as" button to the timeline toolbar and you don't need any in and out for exporting a single stillAttached FilesAnton Strauss

Hi Anton, thanks for the reply, I understand what you are sating but that is how I got the the still image in the first place in bmp format. Its converting that image when on the timeline to a Jpeg using the exporter that causes the crash. I know there are many other ways out of Edius to convert, just concern that in Edius I get the crash. Have you added the CREATE STILL (SAVE AS) button and tried that? There are two separate buttons for stills. The one I mentioned will allow you to save to a different location and to pick the still format.1: Intel 13900K, Asus ROG Z790 Hero, G. Gosh - just put it into P/S, Affinity or even MS Paint and save (export) as jpg. Why P about on the timeline?Comment

Thanks guys, yes all sorted, wrong button!!. DD I normally do that, on this occasion I was going to be clever and quickly send off a Jpeg. Now have "save as" button activated. I don't see how its any longer, particularly I have usually have P/S already open.
Right click on (SUPPLIED) file and open
one click save as
then import to Edius (which you have to do anyway...but now only do ONCE as opposed to twice.
Besides, this way enables any tweaks to be done on the supplied file.Comment

If it is being created in EDIUS, it would have to be saved, then open PS, navigate to the file, export out. In EDIUS using the SAVE AS photo button, all you have to do is click it, pick where you want to save it (which if you have already done one, it will open to that location) and name the file.1: Intel 13900K, Asus ROG Z790 Hero, G. Come on Guys, all a little irrelevant as there is always going to be a 101 ways to perform the same task in editing programs, someways you are more comfortable with than others. I have my answer, others are now aware of a "save as" still button, I am most grateful for your help, suggest you agree to disagree and close my thread.
