I do have the expansion board.
I'll try the ohci option as well, but it's waiting until I've finished this project today, unless I have more capturing to do!!!

Weird... Unless you have the NX expansion card.
Movie Maker should not be able to capture through the NX card due to the nature of the driver. The expansion card however, is recognized by Windows Device Manager as a generic DV device (under IEEE1394).
If you have the NX Bay ("front connection") internal DV cable connected to the NX expansion board, try using the Generic OHCI capture option in Edius.
Otherwise, try connecting the DV camera directly to the back of the NX and select it as your capture device.

I was capturing through the front bay of the NX card.
I'll try the back.
Movie maker used the front connection and same cable though, so I'm not sure it is hardware related.

Capture Problem
OHIC? If you are capturing this way just go back and reselect Capture Settings. That should allow the camera to be controlled unless you have a loose firewire plugin. Try a different firewire cable if you have one.

Capture problem
Yesterday I captured an hour long mini dv tape in 3 segments. Had no trouble at all.
Today, it won't capture, it sits their initialising all day long.
I cannot control the cam from the controls on the pc.
It shows the timecode and plays in the preview window if I control the cam by the cam controls.
I've restarted the cam, edius and the pc. No joy. Capture settings are the same as yesterday, NHX-E2 dv50i.
I got fed up and opened up Movie Maker and captured the small segment I needed just fine.
Just need to see what I'm doing wrong, or what I should check on.
