Looks like a remote desktop session on Mac to an Amazon workspace.
So what's the point? Is it an Edius-Feature? No!
It shows that Amazon provides interesting services and that they did a good job on that.

Sorry, I was trying very quickly to get it off my phone.
Andreas, what happened to a bit of fun in your world?

This is EDIUS basically running in the cloud on a Amazon Workspaces plug in. Works very well. Mac users can run it in iOS.

I have nothing against a bit of fun in everyones world.
But I would expect some specific news related to Edius 8.5 if you post something from NAB here. ;)
Doing my work by remote control is a very common thing.
Didn't expect that this is worth enough to start a topic. ;)
I really felt triggered to find the new feature that may appear on screenshot.
It was a bit disappointing to realize that there is no new feature to see!

If it runs on a Mac does this mean that one can export to ProRes from a Mac ? That may be really useful for people who use a MacBook as their laptop.

No, it doesn't run on Mac. It runs on a virtual desktop in Amazon cloud.
The Mac client just gives access to see and control the virtual remote desktop.

NAB does not start until tomorrow, so nothing official until then. I just wanted to show something fun. Besides, I don't care how many remotes you have run, I bet you have never used EDIUS like this. :-)

                    Hi Pat!

Your bit of fun sparked some interest my end. Your pic was right way up for us kiwis .

I'm heading to Europe in June and will need to do some work remotely whilst I'm away. In the past I have used ms RDP from both mac and PC with mixed results but workable, 2 years ago I used Team viewer for remote sessions. In your opinion if you have one how does the Amazon service compare? Any thoughts?

Thanks for posting. Have fun at NAB.

Edius can be used very easily via remote clients.
I guess that Amazon client gives more seamless feedback and faster response on user actions, they support fast audio and video streaming more natively because they can grab it straight out of the virtual machine to the client.
But if you have fast internet access you can work relatively fast and easy e.g. via Teamviewer.

Thanks Andreas! Looking further into it the Amazon service is a VM in the cloud which is not what I need. Team viewer it is then. Anyone have any other services like TV or RDP that they think are better?

Amazon Workspace is truely rather an enterprise product.
It becomes more interesting in IP-based workflows and if a number of virtual desktops, servers and cloud spaces are involved to collaborate.

I disagree with that. I have run some EDIUS work via Team Viewer and it was not a pleasant process. Yes, it can be done but not very well.

                            This experience was much better.
