I have built a new system (see my signature) and am using the on-board HD630 with a Dell 1920x1200 monitor. Everything seems working fine. Would I benefit from a separate Graphic card or would that be just a waste of money?

Depends what you want to do. As you can see from my signature I do not have a separate graphics card. However I do not use any of the GPU effects etc where a powerful graphics card may help. I do multicam without any problems and use QS to encode for Bluray.Ron Evans

Do you use the Primary Color Corrector, Sony or Canon Raw files, Edius GPU effects or 3rd party plugins?
If you answered yes to any of those, you probably will need a discreet GPU.Jerry

Well I may use a GPU effect in my MP4 timeline but still can play easily in real time... Not using multicam or 3rd party plugins. Guess I just stay with the HD630.Last edited by FransS; 03-10-2017, 08:08 AM.Frans Snoep
