How good will the ATI Radeon HD 2400/2600 cards handle realtime for xplode. overall are they relaiable cards to use w/edius

  • #2
Don't think they will work with Xplode Pro, you're better off with an older X1XXX or X800 card for that...unless you need directx 10 or Dual Link DVI support.

If you're getting an ATI card at that level, I would recommend nVidia instead...ATI drivers aren't the greatest, imo.

I tested those cards with Xplode, they're working, but they are not very good for it and also very poor performance with Vitascene. My X1950 512mb DDR3 from Sapphire works much better...
Asus P8P67, Intel i7 2600K working at 4.50 Ghz, 16Gb Kingston RAM, Windows 7 64bit, 500Gb system drive, 320Gb Data drive and 1TB RAID-0 for AV, Edius NX Express, EVGA nVidia GTX 570 2.5CB DDR5, 750w ALTEC power and some creativity...

Buy GECUBE Radeon X1950PRO 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card HV195PG3-E3 (R) with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Once you know, you Newegg!

Check it out, has HDCP as well...but no DirectX10 (Who needs this right now? Besides gamers...)

This thing can power 2 30" lcd's easily...

I recommend this card right now, as years down the road you can upgrade to a different one as I don't see Xplode Pro being supported after Edius 5 is released...

So please expand on this. It works well for you?

Is it Real-time with Xplode 3D?

              Thanks

                StormDave,

Been reading all of the card posts - Seems like people are have much more luck with ATI ... and NOT nVidia.

I have a 8800GT on the way which I have come to find out does NOT work with Edius in HD mode for some reason. I hope GV addresses this soon.

Does Xplode Edius and Pro run in RT, (meaning low CPU usage all in RT)?

Sorry, wrong decision, The last one good working for Xplode- X1950, do not seek any further...

Wait a second... I have the same card and I love it, I work only in SD.
What doesn't work for you? Xplode? I will not work in HD with any card... Edius? It will work with HD with any card. So what is happened with your one?

PS. I like when one user ask a question and so not return to say at least thank you for all those dogs that still barking there... Shame.

Sorry for the late reply, was on a trip around the world (sort of)

By worth every buck I mean for a Cheap card it performs very well, I used to be Matrox and then Nvidia user for many years but after having repeatedly problems with edius I changed to ATI.

I have to mention that I only do 16x9 SD work and have all effects (Explode Pro) under edius in realtime.

One thing I noticed that ATI is less of Graphic quality than Nvidia, but if you stay in the same price range the ATI performs much faster.
